HOPES is looking for volunteers interested in helping their neighbors prepare their income taxes. Through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), an IRS supported program, volunteers are trained how to prepare simple federal and state tax returns.

VITA trainings begin in December and opportunities to become a volunteer are available throughout tax season (January through April). Each volunteer is asked to provide at least 5 hours of tax assistance per week and flexible hours for completion are offered at various locations throughout Hudson and Union Counties.
