HOPES, Inc. Program Funding
The United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families provides funding for our Head Start Program.
This program is expanded and enhanced by additional funding received from the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Early Childhood Education through the Abbott Preschool Program administered by the Hoboken Board of Education, and the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development.
The program also receives a small grant from the City of Hoboken Department of Human Services, Community Development Division. The nutrition component of our children's programs is supported with funds provided by the State of New Jersey Department of Agriculture Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs, Child & Adult Care Food Program as well as a small grant from PNC Bank's "Grow Up Great" initiative.
Adult ServicesThe Family Resource Center is supported in part by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) through a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), supplemented by a small grant from the Hoboken Housing Authority and TD Bank.
Senior ServicesSenior Services are supported in part by the Department of Health and Human Services, Hudson County Area Agency on Aging as well as the New Jersey Department of Communtiy Affairs (NJDCA) through a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
Community Assistance ServicesNJ SHARES, which offers energy and utility assistance, is funded through PSE&G, the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) Federal Universal Service, partnership with Verizon New Jersey, contributions and other state sources for the purpose of helping disadvantaged families with utility bills. For each successful application processed, HOPES, Inc. receives a nominal payment from NJ SHARES. The Cancer Education and Early Detection Program (CEED), receives funding from the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection Program, through a contract maintained with Hoboken Family Planning, Inc.
Youth ServicesYouth Services (ages 5 and over) are funded in part by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs through a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), supplemented by a small Hoboken Housing Authority grant and various donations.
DonationsThere are many opportunities to help children and elder citizens which are not covered through our traditional funding sources. HOPES, Inc. appreciates any tax-exempt contributions, which can be used for such benefits as food baskets for seniors and special holiday needs-giving, such as Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas food vouchers.
